Mrs. Smith's BIO

Mrs. Smith has been married for 35 years with two adult children. Both of the children were adopted from South Korea having special needs. The children both had IEPs and required learning support with speech services. Mrs. Smith's husband is employed with the Department of Defense and this job has moved the family to England and Germany. The children received special education services through the Department of Defense Schools. Her eldest son has graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Elementary Education and the younger son graduated from Dallastown High School with a regular high school diploma and is attending Harrisburg Area Community College. The younger son is employed by the Lincoln Intermediate Unit #12 as personal care assistant in Autistic Support. Mrs. Smith has a strong belief in the effectiveness of special education services to provide the support students require to achieve their fullest potential.
Mrs. Smith's Under Graduate Degree is in Human Services from Medaille College in Buffalo, New York and the Master's Degree is in Education Leadership from Immaculate University in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. She is entering the 12th year of teaching as a Level 2 Special Education Teacher with certification in grades Kindergarten to Sixth Grade in General Education and Kindergarten to Twelfth Grade in Special Education. Mrs. Smith was employed as a Special Education Teacher with the Lincoln Intermediate Unit #12 for 11 year. She has three years of experience with children on the Autistic Spectrum and eight years with Neurological Support/Learning Support. Mrs. Smith joined the Red Lion Area School District on August 15, 2016 as the Intensive Learning Support Teacher for students in Kindergarten to Third Grade.
