Bio

Hello!  My name is Miss Colleen Riffert and this is my 24th year teaching in Red Lion Area School District. I taught at Windsor Manor Elementary for 14 years in both 5th and 6th grade, and have been teaching 6th grade math for 10 years at Pleasant View Elementary. I grew up in Philadelphia and then the suburbs of the city, graduating from North Penn High School.  I love sports and played both softball and basketball in high school.  At the college level, I played basketball, rode on the equestrian team, and was a student athletic trainer.  I graduated from Bloomsburg University in 1996 with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and then attended Penn State University to earn a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.  I enjoy traveling, hiking, camping, reading, and spending time with my family. I love to go to new places and experience life in different countries.  I have traveled to all seven continents and almost all of the 50 states.  I feel that I am very fortunate to be teaching; I am doing something that I love to do and get to share that love with my students.
